Terms of Use

By downloading, installing, or using any Buckler software (Altron, LabGen), or by creating an account on bucklersoftware.com, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use and our Acceptable Use Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the software or services.

Buckler software (including Altron and LabGen) is professional offensive security tooling. It executes real attack techniques and generates real payloads including, but not limited to: shell commands, network scans and modifications, file system reads and writes, process injection, service disruption, credential extraction, lateral movement, and persistence mechanisms.

These operations carry inherent risk. Even when used in fully authorized environments, they can cause unintended consequences including system instability, data loss or corruption, network disruption, service outages, hardware stress, and permanent configuration changes. You must understand and accept this risk before using the software.

Upon purchase, Buckler grants you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, perpetual license to install and use the purchased software on systems you own or control, solely for authorized security testing and educational purposes.

Free tier licenses are granted subject to the same conditions with feature limitations as described on the pricing page. Free licenses may be revoked if misused.

You may not:

• Redistribute, resell, sublicense, or share the software or your license key with others.
• Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of the software.
• Use the software against systems you do not own or have explicit written authorization to test.
• Use the software for any illegal purpose or in violation of any applicable law or regulation.
• Remove or alter any copyright, trademark, or proprietary notices in the software.

Buckler software is designed exclusively for use in authorized environments: systems you own, test labs you control, and third-party systems where you hold explicit written permission. Unauthorized use against third-party systems is a violation of these Terms and may constitute a criminal offense. We cooperate fully with law enforcement inquiries involving misuse of our products.

YOU EXPRESSLY ACKNOWLEDGE AND AGREE THAT YOUR USE OF BUCKLER SOFTWARE IS ENTIRELY AT YOUR OWN RISK. The software is designed to perform operations that can alter system state, modify files, terminate processes, disrupt network services, and make persistent changes to operating system configuration. These effects may occur on the target system and, depending on your environment, on connected systems or the host running the software.

Risks include but are not limited to:

• Permanent or temporary loss of data on target or host systems.
• System crashes, kernel panics, or unrecoverable boot failures.
• Network configuration changes that disrupt connectivity.
• Unintended execution of commands on systems beyond the intended target.
• Triggering security monitoring systems or alerting third parties.
• Performance degradation or hardware stress from intensive scanning or compute operations.
• Accidental disruption of services in authorized environments that share infrastructure with production systems.

You are solely responsible for maintaining adequate backups, isolating test environments from production systems, and ensuring your environment can tolerate the operations the software performs before executing any plan or template.

THE SOFTWARE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, ACCURACY, RELIABILITY, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT. BUCKLER DOES NOT WARRANT THAT THE SOFTWARE WILL BE ERROR-FREE, UNINTERRUPTED, FREE OF HARMFUL COMPONENTS, OR THAT IT WILL PRODUCE INTENDED RESULTS ON ANY PARTICULAR SYSTEM CONFIGURATION.

BUCKLER MAKES NO WARRANTY THAT THE SOFTWARE WILL NOT CAUSE DAMAGE TO YOUR DEVICES, DATA, NETWORKS, OR OTHER PROPERTY. THE ENTIRE RISK AS TO THE QUALITY AND PERFORMANCE OF THE SOFTWARE IS WITH YOU.

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, BUCKLER AND ITS PRINCIPALS, EMPLOYEES, AGENTS, AND LICENSORS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY DAMAGES WHATSOEVER ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF OR INABILITY TO USE THE SOFTWARE, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

• DAMAGE TO OR DESTRUCTION OF HARDWARE, DEVICES, OR PHYSICAL EQUIPMENT.
• LOSS, CORRUPTION, OR UNAUTHORIZED ACCESS TO DATA OR FILES.
• SYSTEM CRASHES, BOOT FAILURES, OR UNRECOVERABLE SYSTEM STATES.
• NETWORK OUTAGES, CONFIGURATION CHANGES, OR CONNECTIVITY DISRUPTIONS.
• LOSS OF BUSINESS, REVENUE, PROFITS, OR ANTICIPATED SAVINGS.
• INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES OF ANY KIND.

THIS LIMITATION APPLIES WHETHER THE CLAIM IS BASED ON WARRANTY, CONTRACT, TORT (INCLUDING NEGLIGENCE), STRICT LIABILITY, OR ANY OTHER LEGAL THEORY, AND WHETHER OR NOT BUCKLER HAS BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGE. BUCKLER'S TOTAL CUMULATIVE LIABILITY TO YOU SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID FOR THE LICENSE IN THE 12 MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM, OR $10 USD IF NO AMOUNT WAS PAID.

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Buckler and its principals from and against any and all claims, damages, losses, costs, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of or relating to: (a) your use of the software; (b) your violation of these Terms or the Acceptable Use Policy; (c) damage caused to any system, device, network, or data by your use of the software, whether authorized or unauthorized; (d) any claim by a third party that your use of the software harmed them. This indemnification obligation survives termination of your license and these Terms.

All purchases are processed by LemonSqueezy. Prices are in USD. By completing a purchase, you agree to LemonSqueezy's terms of service in addition to these Terms.

Refund policy: We offer a 7-day refund window from the date of purchase for any reason, provided the license has not been used to download a personalized installer more than twice. To request a refund, email bucklersoftware@gmail.com.

Licenses are perpetual for the purchased major version. Updates within the same major version are included. Major version upgrades may be offered at a discounted upgrade price.

The student pricing tier requires proof of active enrollment at an accredited educational institution. By selecting the student tier, you represent that you are currently enrolled. Buckler reserves the right to request verification and revoke a student license if the representation is found to be false.

Buckler may terminate or suspend your license immediately, without prior notice, if you breach these Terms or the Acceptable Use Policy. Upon termination, you must cease all use of the software and delete all copies. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination (including Assumption of Risk, Disclaimer of Warranties, Limitation of Liability, and Indemnification) will survive.

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Mississippi, United States, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Disputes shall be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Mississippi, and you consent to personal jurisdiction in those courts.
